The studies of novels and long pieces of literature in The English Room are designed to ask the student to call upon higher order thinking skills.  Some of the studies are webquests.  Some are projects that ask the student to draw conclusions, think about what they have been reading, and report on their findings.

Fahrenheit 451- this project asks students to perform several tasks.  Students are asked to do both short and long term projects in which they demonstrate their understanding of the novel.   One of the main themes students are asked to research is censorship.

Beowulf - under construction

King Arthur - There is so much about Arthur on the web it is often hard for students to sort through the materials.  Students are given two options for research.  In this activity they are asked to used the higher order thinking skills of argumentation.

Folk Lore - under construction
