Good Morning. It's been wonderful getting away from cold to the warmth of Southern California. However, it's time to come back and get to work again.
Once you have decided to integrate technology into your teaching, you need to consider what technologies will provide you with the outcomes you desire. Georeg Siemens has provided an outline for thinking about various technologies:

Create your own nation: http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi
This is a game your students can play online and just incidentally learn about political institutions. It is better and more appropriate for upper secondary students, but it is possibly viable for middle school students.
Build your own house: http://www.smallblueprinter.com/ver5.html
Students can either start with a blank plan or with a sample plan, design their ideal home and then take a virtual tour of it. Great for art, design, and vocational classes. Again this is not a tool that is easily used by elementary students.
The 5-Line portrait: http://www.the5line.com/info.htm
This can be used at all levels of education. Students use only five
lines to draw a self portrait. Some examples are online. It's a good art project that can be used with many other projects. A possible language arts extension of this might be to take a character in a novel and use the 5-line art project to draw that character's portrait.

I just heard about this novel. If you teach 10-year-olds and up (especially girls) you might want to take a look at this book.

At the following pages are some interesting multi-intelligence activities for you and your students:

I hope you have a good time with this book.
